This is a beautifully matched 16-inch Puka Shell bead strand centered with one authentic high-luster Tahitian Pearl. The creamy white Puka Shell creates a striking contrast against the dark, iridescent pearl, giving the strand an elegant Hawaiian-inspired, tropical and coastal jewelry look.

What kind of Tahitian Pearl is used?
Each strand features one authentic Tahitian Pearl approximately 9-10mm with beautiful high luster. 

The pearl is naturally baroque / off-round, not perfectly round. Expect an organic shape with its own individual character and beautiful dark overtones that may show shades of peacock green, charcoal, silver, blue or subtle purple as the light changes.

Because genuine Tahitian Pearls are natural gems, every pearl will have its own shape, surface characteristics, color and overtone. That individuality is part of the appeal.

What are the Puka Shell beads like?
The Puka Shell beads measure approximately 6-7mm and have an attractive irregular freeform cup shape rather than a perfectly uniform machine-cut appearance. 

The shells are primarily creamy white to ivory, with subtle natural tan and brown markings. We select these strands for a cleaner appearance with minimal bottom cracking, helping the individual Puka Shell pieces look smoother and more refined when strung together.

Do these Puka Shells have naturally formed holes?
One of the most distinctive characteristics of Puka Shell is its naturally formed opening, which gives genuine Puka-style shell jewelry its recognizable organic appearance.

How much cracking is there?
We specifically look for Puka Shell with minimal cracking around the bottom and edges. Since shell is a natural material, occasional small imperfections may still occur, but these strands are selected to provide a cleaner overall appearance. 

The combination of lighter creamy-white shell, limited tiger-style matrix and minimal bottom cracking creates a more refined look while still preserving the natural character of the shell.

How long is the strand?

The strand is approximately 16 inches long from end to end before adding a clasp.

Depending on the clasp, jump rings and findings you choose, your finished necklace may end up slightly longer than 16 inches.

Is this a finished necklace?
No. This is NOT a finished or ready-to-wear necklace. 

There is no clasp included.

Think of it as an "Almost a Necklace." The Puka Shell beads and Tahitian Pearl have already been arranged and strung into a necklace-style design, but you or your jeweler will need to add the final clasp and findings before it can be worn.

Both natural Puka Shell and genuine Tahitian Pearls vary from piece to piece. Your strand may have slight differences in shell shape, creamy-white tone, natural markings, pearl shape, surface character and pearl overtone.

The Tahitian Pearl will be baroque / off-round, and the Puka Shell will retain its naturally irregular cup-style appearance rather than looking perfectly calibrated.
